Timberline Lodge Style

It's snowing at Timberline Lodge for all that love to ski and snowboard. I took these pictures a few years back when I was up with my family. I'm not much of a skier, sadly for my kids, but the lodge is fun to explore.Timberline Lodge style

Built during the depression 1936-38 the lodge stands at 6,000 feet on the south side of Mt. Hood, 60 miles or so east of Portland, Oregon. It was designed by Gilbert Stanley Underwood and others, and built by local artisans in a rustic style, or the architectural term of Rustic Cascadian Neovernacular.

Timberline Lodge is a member of the Historic Hotels of America. The lodge was declared a National historic landmark in 1977 and is a great ski lodge and mountain retreat for the many visitors who travel there yearly.

Have you been here? Isn't the front door fabulous?
