Marisa was fantastic and I highly recommend her. This was my first time hiring an interior designer to work with what I have to improve the layout and design of our Media/Bonus Room. Her consulting rates were reasonable, she worked quickly, made efficient use of my time, and saved me money by focusing on the few things I need to add to the space. Marisa is very collaborative and is an excellent listener. She sought to understand how we use the room, what worked/didn’t work, and what my design preferences were. She did not “push” a cookie cutter style/preference. She shared ideas, sketched examples, and continued rearranging while I’d go to other rooms to look for something that might work. She rolled up her sleeves, moved furniture, emptied book shelves, put excess furniture into the hall, etc. to show immediate results. Within 2 hours, the flow of the room was greatly improved, furniture and rugs were in place, and I had a clear idea of what few things I wanted to add to the room. Once she left, it took me a few more hours to clean up what had been removed, reshelve/organize things and hang artwork. What was once a cluttered, dingy room is now my favorite room in the house. It is bright, inviting, and organized, and will help us spend more time together as a family. Marisa followed up with pins on Pinterest to give examples of the things we discussed so that I could go out and source them myself. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner!
